Ignorant vs Awakened

 Ignorant vs Awakened

This poem explores the quiet distinctions between illusion and insight.

You can wake the one who is merely asleep.
But the not one who enjoys his sleep.

Deep in slumber, unaware of his silent fall.

The ignorant is deaf to the inner call.

For the ignorant, dream is the only reality.
But for the curious, even the real world feels false.
He seeks to pierce through the reality.
For he knows, the Truth is ever present, never gone.

The ignorant revels in material pleasures.
Mistaking that as the purpose of life.
The awakened one indulges with awareness.
For, he has seen the depths of life.

The ignorant treats the world as real

while dismissing Truth as illusion.

The Awakened sees Truth even in illusion

for he is no more living in confusion.

The ignorant mistakes wisdom for mere words.
He acts only for display, without any depth.
The sage, however, lives by the meaning.
Acting with purpose, not to impress.

From the outside, they may appear the same.

But inside, the difference is stark.

One is restless between future and past.

The Other rests in silence, of his inner vast.
