Practical Gyaan - Introduction

Image
Practical Gyaan Spiritual. Practical. Real. Namaste. Welcome to Practical Gyaan. Thank you for taking time out to visit the blog. I am a spiritual seeker, practicing spirituality since 2022. While I have crossed some milestones in my spiritual journey, I do not claim to know everything. I am still a humble seeker who sees the truth and is still walking towards it. In my spiritual journey, I discovered a framework which helped me get clarity in many aspects. I call it the Who, What, Why framework. So let me describe Practical Gyaan in the same framework which helped me on my path. Who Practical Gyaan is, What to expect, and Why it exists. Who is Practical Gyaan? Practical Gyaan is a spiritual identity which was conceptualised in 2023. The idea was to share spiritual learnings from an ongoing sādhanā (spiritual practice). What started as an experiment, saw a sudden death within 6 months. Not because of dearth of ideas. But because of a conscious realisation. One...

Respect - An expression of self

Respect - An expression of self The Cultural Norm In India, we teach our children to respect their parents and elders. It is considered righteous and a sign of good upbringing. People often assume that respect means not talking back, touching the feet of elders, or never raising one's voice before them. These are expressions of respect. But what does respect really mean? It is when your body naturally bows—not merely to follow a ritual, but because you value their presence. It is when your voice remains gentle even when you know they are mistaken—not because you fear them, but because you value the relationship more than the need to win an argument, and because one m...

Are we losing our Humanside to Technology?

Are we losing our Humanside to Technology? The rise of Technology AI, is the new trend everyone is hopping onto.  From Gen Alpha to Baby Boomers, everyone is using ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and many other AI apps these days on a daily basis. Be it to search for something, or to write something or to even create a personalised program. But with this booming trend, there are also apprehensions and fears.  Will AI take away my job? Will humans become obsolete? Are robots going to rule the Earth? In my view, of course not.  Smartness vs Intelligence Any development is good. And so is AI. It helps remove redundancy. It is efficient. It makes life easier, faster, less cumbersome. From students to Corporates everyone is benefiting from AI and rightfully so.  I personally feel these technologies do not make humans 'dumb' in the traditional sense. It takes a level of smartness to navigate the smart devices and programs.  But there is a vital differen...

Instincts: Echoes of Sat-Cit-Ānanda

Instincts: Echoes of Sat-Cit-Ānanda What are Instincts? When we think of instincts, most of us recall what biology teaches us — the basic drives for food, water, shelter, sleep, and reproduction. These ensure survival of the individual and continuation of the species.  But if we stop there, our understanding remains incomplete.  Human beings are not only biological creatures; we are also conscious beings. And when we observe carefully, we find that our instincts are more than just animal drives. At the deepest level, our instincts are reflections of our true nature — Sat-Cit-Ānanda (Existence–Consciousness–Bliss). Instinct for Survival — the reflection of Sat Every creature clings to life. Plants grow towards the sun, animals fight to defend themselves, and humans build homes, hospitals, and entire systems of law and security. The instinct for survival is universal. Why? Because at our core, the ātman is Sat — eternal existence. Sat is unchanging, time...
